Loyola Cross Country at LSU Invitational

Baton Rouge, La.- Lauren Fereday led the Wolfpack with a 42nd place finish in the women’s 6K and Chris Kelliher was tops for the men placing 57th in the men’s 8K as Loyola cross country teams competed in the LSU Invitational on Saturday morning.
Kelliher, who was the top Loyola competitor for the second consecutive meet, finished the course in a time of 31:12.9 and was trailed by Robert Hayden, who finished 62nd with a time of 34:11.8. Trevor McQueen was not far behind Hayden as he completed the run in 64th place in 34:30.6. Justin Fecke was 70th with a time of 36:37.6. Thomas Palacio made his Loyola debut with a time of 40:20.7 in 72nd place.
The men ‘s team placed 10th out of 11 teams with 295 points, finishing behind all NCAA Division I opponents. GCAC foe, SUNO, placed 11th with a team score of 336.
Fereday was the top women’s competitor, completing the meet in a time of 26:49.6 which was good for 42nd place. The remaining six Loyola runners finished en masse with Melissa Wilson leading the charge in 55th with a time of 29:43.3. Others included Annelise Rickert 29:47.0 (56th), Olivia Taylor 29:48.2 (57th), Joilynn Hollies 30:06.7 (58th ), Kristen Francis 32:38.7 (60th), and Kayla Cox 33:13.3 (61st).
The Wolfpack women posted a team score of 230 points for 10th place. Loyola finished behind all NCAA Division I teams.
Loyola’s next meet will be the Mississippi College Invitational in Clinton, Mississippi. The meet’s first race will begin at 8:30 a.m.
