LADY TIGER CROSS COUNTRY WINS ULM WARHAWK INVITATIONAL, MEN PLACE THIRD

MONROE, La. – Grace Korir and Electine Orido finished first and fourth respectively en route to leading the Grambling State Lady Tiger cross country team to a first place finish in the ULM Warhawk Invitational this past weekend. On the men’s side, the Tigers finished third paced behind a second and fifth-place finish from Darwin Price, Jr. and Brent Flurry.
Korir finished 10 seconds ahead of the next competitor as she ran a time of 19:28.28 to capture the overall title. Orido placed fourth with a time of 19:55.22 with Marissa Golson and Christina Vinson rounding out the top 15 runners with times of 21:32.76 and 21:36.23, respectively.
Price finished second overall on the men’s side with a run of 26:05.25 while Flurry placed fifth after recording a run of 26:46.34.
GSU returns to action next week with a meet at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29.
