DENVER - Louisiana Tech's Kinsey Dinnel has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 8-14.

Dinnel, a senior from Loranger, La. (St. Thomas Aquinas HS), was the top finisher at the Mook 4 Invitational in Ruston this past week. Dinnel finished the four-mile race with a time of 20:30, helping the Bulldogs to a triple dual sweep.

Dinnel graduated from Tech this past spring with high honors and is running his final season while pursuing his master's degree. Last season, he was one of the three seniors who elected to redshirt 2007 to come back for a stronger, more experience 2008 team. In high school, Dinnel finished third at the United States Junior Track and Field Championships June 25, 2005, in the 3000-steeplechase with a time of 9:20.16.

Other Men's Nominees: New Mexico State's Michael Hart placed eighth at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational with a 6800-meter time of 22:16.14.
