BOISE, Idaho -- After a nearly three week hiatus, Louisiana Tech's nationally renowned track and field team will try to not only defend its title, it will go for the fourth consecutive title in a row.

"We are looking forward to defending our title on the women's side, and racking up as many conference championships as we can," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said.

Tech was last in action at the prestigious Drake Relays over the weekend of April 26. Freshman Larry Jones had the highest finish of the day with a throw of 172 feet, 9 inches in the men's discus finals for a fourth-place finish, while the 4x400 team of junior El Charrita Reynolds, sophomore Kamelia Stroy and freshmen Monique Wright and Shante Benion also placed fourth with a time of 3 minutes, 42.55 seconds.
