Men's 4x400, Reynolds Hit NCAA Regional Marks

AUSTIN, Texas -- Louisiana Tech's men's 4x400-meter team and junior Phelecia Reynolds highlighted a successful Texas Relays for the nationally renowned track squad this past weekend.

"I'm very proud of these kids," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "We did really well for a young team. I'm very excited about relays as we head into the next three meets.

Reynolds took home the first regional mark of the weekend for the Techsters with a throw of 165 feet, 10 inches for a third place finish in the women's discus.

The men's 4x400 meter-relay team of Demonte Willis, Marcelles Atkinson, Michael Coleman and Al Fullwood also hit a regional mark with a time of 3 minutes, 9.45 seconds to take fourth place.

Wednesday night, junior Cory Denstel took first place in men's 1500 meter run with a time of 3:52.12 while junior Kinsey Dinnel finished second in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase with a mark of 9:13.05.

Tech will return to the track this weekend for the LSU Tiger Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
