WASHINGTON TO COMPETE AT JUNIOR NATIONALS

MONROE, La. --- ULM jumper Natasha Washington did not slow down to take a break once the Warhawks outdoor track & field season finished. Washington will be competing this week in the 2007 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.

The rising sophomore from DeRidder, La., will compete in the women's triple jump on Friday, June 22 at 1:10 p.m. Fans can follow her progress through the meet at www.usatf.org.

Washington made the most of her first season as a Warhawk. Washington won the triple jump at the Warhawk Classic with an NCAA regional qualifying leap of 40' 8.75". At the Mid-east Regional, she finished in ninth place with her personal-best of 41' 3.25". That jump placed her fourth on the Sun Belt Conference season-best list. Washington led the team in the triple jump and was third on the team in the long jump with a leap of 17' 8" at the Warhawk Classic.

Also competing in the meet is ULM signee Brittany Culver. The incoming freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, will compete in the women's 100-meter hurdles at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 21.
