AUSTIN, Texas - Louisiana Tech had three of its four relay teams advance through Friday’s preliminary rounds and into Saturday’s final rounds as action continued at the 87th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
Both the men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays advanced with both teams led by senior Trey Hadnot while the women’s 4x400m relay also moved on to the finals round on Saturday.
Hadnot ran the second leg of the 4x100m relay along with Devin Henderson, Jermey Hicks and Dennis Richardson as the quartet finished fifth overall in the prelims with a time of 39.95. Henderson would later place 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 46-0.75 (13.99m) while Hicks would run 10.58 in the 100m dash to finish 28th.
Later in the day Hadnot anchored a 4x400m relay that included Jaquvis Hart, Christopher Sampract and Darius Statham as they posted a time of 3:10.38 to place eighth in the preliminary round.
The women’s 4x400m relay posted a fifth-place finish in the prelims after Charla Craddock, Aminah Blount, Taneka Henderson and Aldresha Bailey ran 3:37.46.
The women’s 4x100m relay finished 15th with a time of 45.65 as the quartet of Kim Francis, Blount, Craddock andVictoria Wade edged Virginia and UCLA. The women’s sprint medley relay of Mia Adams, Wade, T. Henderson andCassie Divin ran 4:07.08 to place 13th.
Jamelia Johnson finished seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 39-10 (12.14m) while SaBrittany Angelle threw 43-8 (13.31m) in the shot put to place 13th.
Ruston native Joshua Cox finished 10th in the javelin with a throw of 210-5 (64.14m).
Action at the Texas Relays concludes Saturday with live action broadcast on the Longhorn Network.
