Gebauer named Southland Conference track athlete of the week

McNeese State pole vaulter Brad Gebauer has been named the Southland Conference track and field athlete of the week.
He was honored for his nation leading 18-4 1/2 vault at the Houston Invitational last Saturday.
That vault is the highest by a collegiate performer in this indoor season, is a McNeese school record and is the second highest for any SLC pole vaulter indoors ever.
Gebauer is a graduate student from Bad Axe, Michigan. He will have an open date this week in preparation for the conference indoor championship the following week.
The McNeese standout has also qualified for the USA Indoor nationals in B oston Feb. 23-25.
