Cross Country Places 12th in Crimson Classic

The Crimson Classic featured 23 teams and 187 runners from across the country. Louisiana Tech finished ahead of all other Louisiana foes, including LSU, Louisiana-Monroe, Tulane and Loyola.

“I thought our guys competed hard out there this afternoon,” head coach Gary Stanley said. “It is always fun to go out there and compete and beat your in-state rivals.”

Leading the way for Louisiana Tech with a 26th place finish was junior Paul Sakit who recorded a time of 25:35. Following closely behind Sakit was junior Anthony Plourdewho claimed a 33rd place finish with a time of 25:42.

Wrapping up the scoring for Louisiana Tech were junior Taylor Ashton, sophomore Tom Stringer and junior Tor Gach who finished 96th, 107th and 111th with times of 26:50, 27:00 and 27:09, respectively.

Louisiana Tech’s next action comes Nov. 2 as the Bulldogs travel to Denton, Texas for the Conference USA Championships.
