The meet, which was the final tuneup for Louisiana heading into the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Nov. 2, was scored as a dual meet with the Ragin' Cajuns defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the men's side. On the women's side, Louisiana defeated host UALR and UAPB.
Anna Katherine Devitt led the Ragin' Cajuns on the women's side earning a fifth-place finish in 17:55.90, eclipsing her previous 5K season-best (18:03.83) set on Sept. 28 at the McNeese State Cowboy Stampede. Danielle Castaldi finished 12th overall in 18:56.13, shaving nearly 30 seconds off her previous best (19.24.90).
Courtney Musgrove recorded her best finish with an 18th-place performance and crossing the finish line in 19:33.17, over 20 seconds faster than her previous best (19:55.64) set last week at the FSU Invitational. Genevieve Roy (21st, 19:53.67) took over 20 seconds off her previous high while freshman Camille Barnett (24th, 20:04.26) and Kaylei Esfeller (26th, 20:09.63) each recorded season-best times in the 5K.
Claire Hodges finished ninth overall (18:35.47) for the Ragin' Cajuns with Ashley Irwin (13th, 19:11.53) and Jessica Donald (25th, 20:06.64) also competing.
Freshman Logan Pearce continued to lead the Ragin' Cajuns on the men's side after posting a 12th place in 25:24.30 on the 8K course. Corbett Ourso finished 16th overall with an 8K season-best time of 25:57.17 while Scott Brewster, who finished 19th overall in 26:04.31, took nearly a minute of his previous mark (27:01.65) set the Azalea City Classic on Sept. 14.
Cole Stafford (25th, 26:39.12), Alex Hebert (34th, 27:13.14) and Christian Bergeron (45th, 28:03.54) each recorded season-bests in the 8K for the Ragin' Cajuns while Trey Bonin (21st, 26:13.83), Jacob Chicola (24th, 26:24.09) and Sean Bezdek (25th, 26:32.98) narrowly missed their respective season-bests.
