MANDEVILLE. LA 3/18/2010 - Gulf Coast Event Group, Inc (GCEG), in association with Varsity Sports, is pleased to announce the Inaugural Gulf Coast Half Marathon - Louisiana Northshore powered by Varsity Sports on October 10, 2010.
Scheduled for the marquee date of 10/10/10, the half marathon in Old Mandeville will be the second event in the Gulf Coast Half Marathon Series. The first event is scheduled for April 11, 2010 in Pensacola Beach, Florida.
"Mandeville's beauty, old south charm, and the flat & fast course which takes runners on a tour of historic homes and along Lakeshore Drive make this an ideal race destination," said Adam Guess, Managing Partner, GCEG. "New Orleans has long been a sports tourism destination and now the Northshore is poised to stand alongside it's neighbor across the lake," Guess added.
Gulf Coast Half Marathon - Louisiana Northshore powered by Varsity Sports is also sponsored by Mizuno & the Northshore Conifer.
A portion of the proceeds benefit local & national charities.

WHERE: Mandeville, Louisiana on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, one hour north of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
COURSE INFO: The Gulf Coast Half Marathon - Louisiana Northshore powered by Varsity Sports is a flat out and back loop course open to runners and walkers with a four-hour time limit.
COST: For the first 500 registrants: $40 for the half-marathon, then early registration at $55. Includes technical short-sleeved t-shirt, goodie bag, aid stations with Gatorade, medical support, finisher's medal, post-race party including food, beverages, and awards ceremony.
