Digital Harbor\'s Barry finishes 12th in second collegiate race

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Former Digital Harbor High School standout Milo Barry, competing for New Orleans' Xavier University, ran four miles in 23 minutes, 38.17 seconds Friday to finish 12th out of 79 runners in the Southern Miss Invitational cross country meet at Tatum Park.

Barry, a freshman in his second collegiate meet, was Xavier's second-fastest finisher and helped the Gold Rush place second out of 12 teams.
Xavier's other freshman from Baltimore, former Western High School standout Brittany Everett, ran 5,000 meters in 25:04.08 to place 41st out of 90 runners in the women's division. Everett was Xavier's fourth-fastest female and helped the Gold Nuggets place seventh out of 12 teams.

Xavier's next race will be 8,000 meters for the men and 5,000 meters for the women on Sept. 15 in the Xavier/Loyola Big Easy Invitational at Audubon Park in New Orleans.
