BATON ROUGE -- Lady Tiger sprinter Kelly Baptiste is featured in Sports Illustrated's, \"Faces in the Crowd,\" that is appearing on newsstands now.
Baptiste, a native of Scarborough, Trinidad, was recognized for her exceptional performance at last month's Penn Relays where she was named the College Women's Athlete of the Meet for Individual Events after winning the 100 meters with a then personal best time of 11.10 seconds.
The time, the seventh fastest in school history, tied her with former Miami standout and current 100-meter world champion, Lauryn Williams, for the meet record in the event.
In addition, Baptiste ran legs on both the Lady Tigers\' 4x200 and 4x100-meter relay teams that finished first and second, respectively.
