Trafton Academy JH/MS/Elem Invitational: 442 runners compete in Hammond.

 

First Baptist second grader Ivy Hunt was the individual winner in the Sub-Elementary girls 800 meters (3:32) in Wednesday’s 2012 Trafton Academy Cross Country Invitational held on the St. Thomas Aquinas High School campus in Hammond.  St. Peter edged-out Christ Episcopal (48-52) for the team title,  while Holy Ghost was third(73),  Holden fourth(76) and Jewel Sumner fifth(79).  Top local finishers were: Mariah Robertson(Sumner) fifth(3:44),  Marley Richard(SJS) sixth(3:46),  Emma Nicaud(TA) eighth(3:49),  Kacey Brethaupt(Holden) tenth(3:51),  Sophie Geisler(HGS) eleventh(3:53) and Haylee Perrotto(Holden) fifteenth(4:02) earned medals in the top fifteen positions.  Brothers Kollin Poche and Konner Poche from St. Peters finished 1-2 in the Sub-Elementary boys division with respective times of (3:06) and (3:08) to lead the team to a victory with (28) points,  while Christ Episcopal was second (52),  Albany Elementary was third (71) and St. Joseph’s was fourth with (71).  Other local medal winners were:  Carson Thibodeaux(SJS) third(3:17),  Kennedy Jackson(SJS) fifth(3:22),  Aiden Hodges(Sumner) tenth(3:32),  Taylor Purvis(Albany) eleventh(3:37),  Reid Williams(TA) twelfth(3:38) and Brody Doan(HGS) fifteenth(3:40).  

The Trafton Academy girls put five runners on the medal stand to earn the team title in the Elementary girls division with (34),  Albany Elementary was second(63),  St. Joseph third(76),  St. Peter fourth(98),  Holden fifth(112)  and Lake Castle sixth(116).  Trafton’s Olivia Rainey captured the individual win by fifteen seconds,  with a winning mile time of (7:02),  over teammate Jourdan St. Romain at the second position(7:17),  Skylar Cheek(SJS) was fourth(7:26),  Jadyn Richard(SJS) fifth(7:28),  Madelin Richardson(Holden) sixth(7:37),  Caroline Eschete(TA) seventh(7:41),  Hazel Dennis(Albany) eighth(7:43),  Emma Miranda(Albany) twelfth(7:51),  Abbie Parrish(TA) thirteenth(7:55),  Jada Clark(TA) fourteenth(7:55)  and Crissy Edwards(Albany) fifteenth(7:58).  Christ Episcopal won the Elementary boys division with (73),  Holden was second(86),  St. Peter third(87),  Albany Elementary fourth(98),  Levi Milton fifth(105),  Lake Castle sixth(110),  Jewel Sumner seventh(143)  and Trafton Academy eighth(183).  Justin Baham (St. Peter) was the individual winner in (6:27), followed locally by Kolby Sloan(Sumner) fourth(6:39),  Jake Forbes(Holden) tenth(6:59),  Jacob Frazier(HGS) eleventh(7:01),  Quinn Paddock(HGS) twelfth(7:01),  Dawson Tolar(Sumner) thirteenth(7:05) and Coley Courtney(Holden) fifteenth(7:13).  

The Trafton girls put five runners in the top seven positions to capture the Middle School girls team title with (19) over runner-up Albany Middle with (63),  Holy Ghost was third(81),  Jewel Sumner fourth(96),  Northlake Christian fifth(97),  Levi Milton sixth(142)  and Hammond Westside seventh(165).  Emma Littell was the individual champion in (6:25),  while HGS’s Isabella Jones was second(6:34),  followed by Abigail Bates(TA) third(6:36),  Breanna Becerra(TA) fourth(6:38),  Madelyn Nicaud(TA) fifth(6:41),  Presley Walls(TA) seventh(6:57),  Hannah Lyons(HGS) ninth(7:03),  Trystan Friloux(Alabany) tenth(7:18),  Madison Knight(Albany) eleventh(7:20),  Skylar Richardson(Albany) thirteenth(7:25) and Abby Hodges(Sumner) fourteenth(7:26).  The Albany Middle boys captured the Middle School division team trophy with (48), just ahead of runner-up Christ Episcopal(53),  Trafton was third(60),  Levi Milton fourth(96),  St. Peter fifth(131),  Hammond Westside sixth(141),  Lake Castle seventh(171)  and Jewel Sumner eighth(193).  Victor Harvey(Trafton) was the individual winner in (5:58),  Mason Thompson(TA) was second(6:11),  Drew Thompson(Albany) fifth(6:20),  Wayne Hubert(Albany) sixth(6:22),  Steven Kuhn(Albany) eleventh(6:29),  Logan Lucas(Albany) twelfth(6:31) and Cade Myers(TA) thirteenth(6:32).

The St. Joseph’s girls easily won the Junior High girls division with (24) over Holden(52) and Sumner was third(60).  St. Joseph eighth grader Lydia Pevey earned the individual win with a time of (13:18),  just ahead of teammate Sara Lavastida at the second position(13:21).  Victoria Richardson(Holden) was fifth(14:33),  Kaitlyn Kropog(Holden) was sixth(14:38),  Hayleigh Habisreitinger(SJS) seventh(15:07),  Emma McDonald(Sumner) eighth(15:13),  Leigh Henderson(SJS) ninth(15:15),  Kaylee Hughes(Holden) tenth(15:23),  Taylor Raiford(SJS) eleventh(15:29),  Hannah Henderson(SJS) twelfth(15:47),  Emily Ransom(SJS) thirteenth(16:08),  Fredrika Gatlin(Sumner) fourteenth(16:18) and Destinee Gray(Sumner) was fifteenth(16:22).  The PCA Home School team captured the Junior High boys team title with (34) over Sumner(34),  Christ Episcopal was third(70)  and St. Peter was fourth(90).  Sumner’s Austin James was the JH individual winner in (11:46),  followed by local runners Kenneth Kelly(Albany) at the seventh position(13:26),  Joey Edwards(Sumner) eighth(13:31),  Carlones Coleman(Sumner) ninth(14:10),  Landon Bullock(Sumner) twelfth(14:47) and Michael Barfield(Holden) was fourteenth(14:56).
