Eight Southeastern Athletes To Compete In NCAA Regional

Trip To NCAA Outdoor Championships At Stake

Southland Conference Male Newcomer of the Year Jeff Milliron will compete in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla.
HAMMOND, La. – Eight Southeastern Louisiana track and field athletes will compete in the NCAA East Regional Thursday through Saturday on the campus of North Florida. At stake is a trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Jessica Fekete, Michelle Ogashi, Ashley Pfantz, Brittany Pfantz and Nia Stewart will be competing for the Lady Lions. Jeff Milliron, Phillippe Moore and Kovey Simmons will compete for the men.

Brittany (13 feet, 1.5 inches) and Ashley Pfantz (12-07.50) placed second and third in the women's pole vault respectively at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships.

Stewart finished second at the Southland Championships in the women's long jump (19-11.0). Ogashi placed second in the women's triple jump (41-05.25).

Fekete turned in the second-best hammer throw (181-08) in the Southland during the outdoor season.

Simmons placed second in the men's pole vault (16-06.75) at the Southland Championships. Moore finished seventh in the men's long jump (24-03.75).

Milliron, the Southland male newcomer of the year, placed sixth in the shot put (54-01.75), third in the discus throw (181-11) and ninth in the hammer throw (160-00) at the conference championships.
