JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
The first two days of competition at the NCAA East regional proved to be tough on the Southeastern Louisiana track and field program. None of the  athletes competing qualified for the finals in their respective events.

“It was a very good competition day,” head coach Sean Brady said. “Every centimeter counted and we were on the short end of the stick.”

Sophomore Jeff Milliron, the Southland Conference Male Newcomer of the Year, turned in the best performance of the day. He finished 29th in the men's discus throw with a distance of 167 feet, 5.45 inches.

Phillippe Moore, a sophomore from Pass Christian, Miss., placed 38th in the men's long jump. He cleared a distance of 22-09.23.

For the Lady Lions, Nia Stewart finished 43rd in the women's long jump (18-02.11).

On day two of the regional, Brittany Pfantz placed 19th in the women's pole vault (12-11.51) while her sister Ashley Pfantz did not place after failing to clear the bar.

The regional competition wraps up Saturday.
