Southeastern Sets Five Season Bests On Final Day Of Southland Championships

Lady Lions finish 6th; men finish eighth

SAN MARCOS, Texas –
On the final day of the Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Southeastern Louisiana athletes recorded five season-best performances.

The Lady Lions finished sixth in the final results with 56 points and the Southeastern men placed eighth with 44.5 points.

Southeastern had three second-place finishes on the final day of competition. Michelle Ogashi turned in a distance of 41 feet and 5.25 inches in the women's triple jump. Brittany Pfantz in the women's pole vault (13-01.50) and Kovey Simmons in the men's pole vault (16-06.75) each finished second.

Ashley Pfantz (women's pole vault, 12-07.50) and Jeff Milliron (men's discus, 181-11) each finished third while setting personal bests.

The Southeastern men's 4x400-meter relay team of Abram Taylor, T.J. Herbert, Brendon Mitchell, Shaq Windley, Tavarus Arbuthnot and Michael Landry finished seventh with a time of 3:12.80, setting a team season best.

Phillippe Moore (men's long jump, 24-03.75) and Alicia Noel (women's 400-meter hurdles, 1:00.49) each set season bests.

Season bests were also set by the Lady Lions 4x100 (46.61 seconds) and 4x400-meter relay (3:48.72) teams. Bernadette Derosier, Nia Stewart, Sydni Jones, Tamra Grayson and Noel ran on the 4x100 team. Ambur Jones, Grayson, C'Arra Watts and Noel ran on the 4x400 team.
