Thursday results

HAMMOND – Facing off against top-notch competition Thursday, Southeastern Louisiana's Kovey Simmons tied for fourth in the men's pole vault at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

Simmons topped out at 16 feet, 6 ¾ inches in the finals.

The Lions also had a pair of athletes competing in the men's 400-meter hurdles. Tarvoris Mack (54.42 seconds) finished 27th and Abram Taylor (54.59 sec.) placed 31st in the preliminaries.

Southeastern still has the men's relay teams as well as the women's jumpers and pole vaulters left to compete Friday.
