ULM Track & Field Wraps Up at Louisiana Classics

 

LAFAYETTE, La. - The ULM track & field team completed its second meet of the outdoor season Saturday at the Louisiana Classics. It marked the outdoor debut for many Warhawks, including senior All-American Richard McKay in the javelin and senior speedster Luther Ambrose.

McKay had a best throw of 63.45 meters to earn sixth place in the javelin, while Ambrose anchored the ULM 400-meter relay team to a fifth-place finish (41.24) on Saturday. The Warhawks also finished fourth in the men's 1600-meter relay in a time of 3:15.16.

The Warhawks turned in a nice performance in the men's 400-meter hurdles as senior Jestin Miller finished second in a time of 53.87, and freshman Jamel Sams placed third in a time of 54.16.

On the women's side, junior Jacobi Wilson ran a time of 25.08 to finish sixth in the 200-meter dash. In addition, junior Danielle O'Donnell scored 4,217 points to earn runner-up honors in the heptathlon which took place Thursday and Friday.

ULM returns to action next weekend at the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge, La.
