HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana senior
Shannon Grover set the school record in the men's indoor 200-meter dash Saturday at the NCAA Qualifying meet in Birmingham, Ala.
Grover ran the 200 in 21.34 seconds, breaking the record he set and later equaled this season.
“He didn't run the time we needed, but he broke the school record,” assistant coach Brent Alfred said. “He looked tired from running last week.”
The effort comes a day after
Kovey Simmons set the school record in the men's indoor pole vault (17 feet, 4 inches) at the NCAA Qualifying meet at LSU.
“If a couple athletes qualify for multiple events or get injured [Grover] may move up the list,” Alfred said.
