Thibodaux - The Nicholls State men's and women's cross country teams head to Lafayette this Friday participating in the Ragin Cajun Invitational hosted by ULL.

The women's portion of the meet will begin at 6 p.m. with the 5k race, while the men's four-mile race begins at 6:30 p.m.

Host ULL, Alcorn State, Xavier, Southern and Nicholls rounds out the five team field.

The men will be competing for the first time this year, while the women will run in its second meet of the season.

The Colonel women are coming off a second place team finish at last week's McNeese Relays. The duo of Jessica McCleod and Tessni Carruthers finished first overall clocking in 20:20, which was seven seconds better than the McNeese squad.
