AAU JOs: Four Louisiana Youth Shine in Des Moines

Louisiana athletes continued to produce strong performances Tuesday during the fourth day of competition at the AAU National Junior Olympics, highlighted by a national championship in the 12-year-old boys javelin. Kayleb Cosey, competing for Blackburn Express, came away with the win after throwing the turbo javelin 142-8. Fellow Louisiana javelin thrower,  Albert Edwards III earned the silver medal with a throw of 133-7 to give the Bayou State the top two spots on the podium. 

Louisiana also received a strong sprint performance from All Cenla Elite's Aubrey Skipper in the girls 10-year-old 100 meters. Skipper won her preliminary heat in 13.66 seconds to automatically qualify for the next round and positioned herself among the event's top contenders.
