Friday night, MileSplit LA's Jerry Byrd visited with River Cities Track Club head coach Mychal Word. RCTC is coming off a great showing at the USATF Youth Nationals in Huntsville, Alabama where the program had nine national champions.
The national championships included two relays in the 17-18 young women's 4x100 and 4x400. Both relay teams consisted of Samauri Butler, Mackenzie Marshall, Livvy West, and Sarina Miller.
The performances by the relay teams were the highlight of the club's 74 qualifiers. Of those qualifiers, 48 athletes earned All-American honors.
