Watch the RunningLane Track Championships
Just when you think you've seen Parkway's Brennan Robin do it all...
The junior took it to another level late Friday night at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville, AL by running an 8:46.75 at the RunningLane Championships against some of the best in the nation. After taking the lead briefly during the bell lap, Robin finished third in the race. Colorado's Abdinasir Hassan won the race with a time of 8:43.03.
With his time, Robin moves from No. 5 to No. 2 on Louisiana's All-Time list.

"He only has Bobby Beck left," Parkway head coach Kent Falting said after the race.
Falting, who has had a front row seat to Robin's meteoric rise in high school distance running since he arrived at Parkway High School in the Fall of 2023, never passes on an opportunity to brag on the best distance runner in North Louisiana history, but, on this night, even Falting was left speechless by what he witnessed.
"I would, but I'm speechless," Falting said when asked for a quote about Robin's performance.
When he was able to wrap his head about what he witnessed, Falting texted the following to MileSplit LA.
"I think this year has given Brennan the confidence to know he can compete on the national stage and that he belongs there,' Falting said. "A lot of kids are just excited to be in the race, but don't race like they belong there. Brennan has the confidence to know he can race and potentially beat those other national caliber athletes. In his three biggest races (NBIN, Arcadia, and RunningLane) he PR'd and never backed down."
The latter is a great point. When the lights are the brightest, Robin performs. Plain and simple.
What a month it has been for Robin, who broke the LHSAA State Outdoor Championship composite record in the 1600 meters at the LHSAA State Outdoor Meet on May 5th with a time of 4:05. He didn't just beat Rummel's Keith Iovine's (4:12), he destroyed it in a race where he finished as the runner up to Jesuit's Connor Fanberg.
The fun isn't over in Huntsville just yet as Robin will face Fanberg again in the final event of the Championship Boys' Mile at RunningLane on Saturday night. The race is scheduled for 9:50 p.m. You can watch the race on MileSplit by clicking on the link at the top of this article.
