LAFAYETTE – The Southeastern Louisiana track and field team enjoyed 14 first-place finishes at the Cole-Lancon Invitational on the campus of Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday.
The first-place finishes were the most of the five schools competing, and were evenly divided between the men's and women's sides. The Lady Lions were responsible for three of Southeastern's five season-highs set today.
“I thought we did very well in the hurdles today,” Southeastern track and field coach
Sean Brady said. “Judith (Schultheis) ran very well in the 100-meter hurdles and freshman
Alicia Noel moved up quite a few spots in the SLC standings in the 400.
“Overall, it was a good tuneup for the Southland Conference championships. We got a few more athletes qualified for conference. We're a very young team with mostly freshmen and sophomores on the women's side, but we're starting to come together at the right time. “
