BATON ROUGE – The Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team will send 27 participants to the 2011 LSU Alumni Gold at Bernie Moore Track Stadium on the campus of Louisiana State University.
Southeastern, which sent 12 men and 15 women to the event, opens competition in the long jump.
Nia Stewart will jump for the Lady Lions while
Phillippe Moore and
Michael Rheams will jump for the men.
Southeastern's
Kovey Simmons will compete in the pole vault and
Mason McGee in the javelin for the men.
On the women's side,
Colleen Butler and
Brittany Pfantz will compete in the pole vault and three Lady Lions will toss the javelin.
Whitney Curry will run in the 1500 meter run.
Judith Schultheis and
Tess Mullings will both compete in the 100 meter and 400 meter hurdles.
Henry Rop will represent Southeastern in the day's final event, the men's 5000 meter run.
