BATON ROUGE – Southeastern Louisiana senior
Adonson Shallow will head into next week's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with some momentum after winning the weight throw at the LSU Last Chance Meet Friday night at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
Shallow's winning throw of 73.26 feet (22.33 meters) was the second-best performance in the nation this season.
“We wanted to get Adonson one more competition before we head to nationals,” Southeastern assistant coach Brian Mondschien commented. “He had a great performance and we expect him to do well at the NCAA meet.”
Shallow will compete at the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which are scheduled for March 11-12 in Columbus, Ohio.
