NORMAN, Okla. – Junior
Michelle Ogashi earned All-Southland Conference honors in the triple jump to highlight the Southeastern Louisiana track and field teams' efforts on the final day of the Southland Conference Indoor Championships Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Facility on the University of Oklahoma campus.
The Lions finished ninth with 32 points, while the women's team scored 33 points to finish in 10th. The Stephen F. Austin women and the UTSA men maintained their opening day leads to win league titles.
“This wasn't our best weekend, but we did have some positive performances,” Southeastern assistant coach Brian Mondschien commented. “Michelle had a good day, as did both of our 4x400 relay teams. We're also pleased with the efforts of our women's pole vaulters.
“We came to this meet with a very young team,” Mondschien added. “Our team now has a better idea of what Southland Conference competition is about and we feel that'll serve us very well during the outdoor season.”
Ogashi posted a leap of 12.20 meters to finish third in the triple jump. Only the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi duo of Kassandrea Son (12.33 meters) and Ernestine Cray (12.26 meters) outperformed the Lady Lion junior.
Senior
Judith Schultheis provided Southeastern with four points, finishing fifth in the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 8.82. Schultheis, freshman

Alicia Noel posted a sixth place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 3:56.08 to give Southeastern six points.
The Lady Lions also added 11 points in the pole vault. Sophomore
Brittany Pfantz finished fourth, clearing 3.60 meters, while freshman teammate
Colleen Butler (3.45 meters) was right behind in fifth place.
The Lions were led on Saturday by the 4x400 relay team of senior

Cameron Lawrence, freshman
Shaquille Brown and freshman
Abram Taylor. The Lion quartet finished with a season-best time of 3:19.52 to finish in fourth.
Taylor also pointed in the 60 meter hurdles. The Lion freshman covered the distance in 8.29 meters to finish in sixth and give the Lions three points.

Michael Rheams (6th, 15.01 meters, triple jump), senior
Adonson Shallow (7th, 16.87 meters, shot put), junior
Stephen Atkinson (7th, 4,605 points, heptathlon) and senior
Henry Rop (8th, 8:38.66, 3,000 meters) also scored for the Lions.
