LAKE CHARLES – The Southeastern Louisiana University indoor track and field team competes in its third meet of the season on Saturday when it travels west to compete at the Jeff Davis Indoor II, hosted by McNeese State.

Field events begin at 12:30 p.m. with running events scheduled for 4 p.m.

Joining Southeastern and McNeese State in the meet are Northwestern State, Nicholls, Mississippi Valley, Dillard and Xavier along with individuals from South Alabama and LSU.

Southeastern returns to action after competing last week in the Houston Indoor Invitational. The Lions competed against 20 schools in their second meet of the season and produced five top-5 finishes, including first-place performances by Adonson Shallow (men's weight throw, shot put).

Shallow, who has won three of four events this season, enters the meet with the top throw among Southland Conference athletes in the weight throw (68-10) and second in the shot put (58-2.50). Pole vaulter Kovey Simmons is third in the SLC (16-0.75), Phillippe Moore is fifth in the long jump (23-4.50) and Michael Rheams is fourth in the triple jump (48-5.25) and eighth in the long jump (22-11.75).

On the women's side, Michelle Ogashi established a school record in the triple jump (39-6) with Brittany Pfantz second in the league in pole vault (11-7.75) and Colleen Butler fourth in the pole vault (11-3.75).

Judith Schultheis ranks fourth among Southland athletes in the 60-meter hurdles (8.80), with Jessica Fekete and Renada Living sixth each in the weight throw (50-11.50).
