MICHAEL MCKENZIE II (3RD FROM LEFT) COMPETES AT THE LSU HIGH SCHOOL CLASSIC
South Baton Rouge Jaguars' Michael Mckenzie II is no stranger to big-time competition. Mckenzie, who has multiple national championships on his impressive resume', competed in the first high school meet of his career earlier this month at the LSU High School Classic. He finished seventh in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.51.
Mckenzie's time ranks No. 15 in Louisiana, but ranks No. 2 in the nation among all freshmen boys.
It also ranks No. 2 all-time for La. high school boys in the 60m hurdles. Mansfield's Jaden Youngblood ran a 8.31 in 2022 on his way to becoming the first indoor state champion in school history.
