La.'s Top 11 Athletes: No. 3 Parkway's Brennan Robin

PARKWAY'S BRENNAN ROBIN IS READY TO RUN INDOORS AGAIN AFTER MISSING DUE TO INJURY IN 2025

As we reach No. 3 on our list of La. 's Top 11 athletes heading into the 2026 indoor season, we are going to put a young man on our list who feels worthy of the spot- Parkway's Brennan Robin. But while we place Robin here we will also mention some other La. high school boys to keep an eye on.

You will not find Robin among the top returners in the nation-or even the state. He missed the 2025 indoor season after stepping on a curb during a training run and sprained his ankle.

Instead of competing, he sat in the stands at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse cheering on his fellow Panthers.

Outdoors, he was back near the top earning a No. 4 in Louisiana with a time of 4:15.55 in the 1600m. Catholic's William Decuir (4:12.2) is the only miler who returns with a faster time.

In the 3200m, Robin (9:13.26) was equally impressive. Again, he was ranked fourth overall and is the No. 2 ranked returner behind Jesuit's Brady Monahan.

It appears that Monahan, who won the Division I LHSAA State Cross Country Championships in Natchitoches in November, will be hanging up his spikes and focusing on other endeavors during his final semester of high school.

Robin will open up his junior track and field season this Saturday at the LSU High School Classic where he will compete in the 1600m.

Here are three other distance runners to watch over the course of the 2026 season are Jesuit's Connor Fanberg, Highland Baptist's Tyler Blissett, and Lafayette Christian's Talan Sievers.

Fanberg is Louisiana's No. 1 returner in the 1600m after running a 4:22.52 at the 2025 LHSAA State Indoor Championships to win his first title. Outdoors, Fanberg ran even faster finishing with a season best of 4:18.55, just missing the podium at the state outdoor meet.

The cross country season took its toll on Fanberg with an on-again off-again hip issue. He is hopeful for a late season appearance in order to get back on the track to defend his 2025 state title.

Blissett, who recently committed to Army, is coming off of his fourth consecutive LHSAA State Cross Country Championship. He is the number No. 2 ranked returner in Louisiana in the 1600m where he had a season best of 4:25.13 at the 2025 LHSAA State Indoor Meet.

In the 3200m, Blissett(9:39) is the No. 4 ranked returner behind Monahan, Catholic's Augustin Juneau (9:32), and Jesuit's David Quintana (9:36).

Blissett will open his senior track season on January 24th at the LSU High School Qualifier.

It was great to see Lafayette Christian's Talan Sievers back on top of the podium at the LHSAA State Cross Country Championship. It was the second cross country state championship for Seivers, who won it as a freshman.

Seivers, who will open his season this Saturday at the LSU HS Classic,  is ranked the No. 6 returner in both the 1600m (4:30) and 3200m (9:46)
