Highland Baptist's Tyler Blissett Commits to Army

Highland Baptist senior Tyler Blissett announced on Saturday that he is committed to Army.

"I am beyond excited to finally announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the United States Military Academy West Point," Blissett posted.

"I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve my country," Blissett said. "Thank you, Lord, for your many blessings and getting me here. I would also like to thank my friends and family who have been there believing in me and cheering me on through it all. I would like to especially thank my dad and coach for always pushing me to achieve the goals I set for myself and pushing me to be the best version of myself I can be. I wouldn't be where I am without him."

After last year's 2025 indoor season, Blissett is ranked at the No. 2 returner in the 1600m with an indoor best of 4:25. During the outdoor season, Blissett lowered his personal record to 4:20.53, which he ran in a fourth-place finish at the Pete Boudreaux Invitational.

In November, Blissett won his fourth consecutive state cross country championship with a three-mile time of 15:45.
