The Southeastern Louisiana men's and women's track and field teams return to Baton Rouge Friday for the LSU Twilight Invitational. It is their final meet before the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.

This will be Southeastern's second visit to the capital city during the indoor campaign, previously taking part in the Purple Tiger Invitational on Jan. 22. They are scheduled to return on March 5 for LSU's last chance meet.

The Southland Conference Indoor Championships are set for Feb. 26 and 27 at the Mosier Indoor Facility on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

“We're just trying to stay sharp,” head coach Sean Brady said. “Almost all of the kids we expect to qualify (for the conference meet) have, except maybe one or two. This is the final preparation before we head to Oklahoma. I think we can get some work done and have a quality competition.”

The Lions are coming off a two week break from competition. Their last action came at the Jeff Davis Bank McNeese Indoor Meet on Feb. 5. Several members of the men's team took home individual victories, including Kovey Simmons, Brandon Camp, Kernell Jupiter and Henry Rop. Michael Rheams won two events, the long jump and triple jump.

In addition, the men's distance medley and 4x400 meter relay teams claimed wins.

Lacey Sanchez was the top collegian in women's pole vault at the McNeese meet, topped only by a pair of unattached competitors, including Southeastern volunteer assistant coach and 2008 Olympian Erica Bartolina.

Field events begin at 12:30 p.m., with competition on the track following at 5:30 p.m. Live results will be available.
