Cajuns Open Indoor Season in Houston

The Ragin' Cajuns track and field team will open its indoor season by competing in the Leonard Hilton Memorial meet in Houston, Texas, on Friday.

The meet opens with the men's and women's weight throw at 11 a.m. The first running event, the men's and women's 200-meter dash, takes place at 1 p.m. 

The meet will feature 14 teams all from Texas and Louisiana. The participating schools are Abilene Christian, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, Nicholls State (women), Prairie View A&M, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, Texas Southern, Tulane (women), UL-Lafayette and UTSA.

The Cajuns will be bringing Deanna Alfred, Alexis Malone, Amanda Roberts and Krystal Chevis to compete in the women's 200m dash. For the men, Sean Ruth, Stacey Fuller, Kelvan Turner and Justin Jones will take part in the men's 200m dash.

In the women's 800m run, Paula Parker, April Colomb, Gabriel Augustine and Abigail Jenkins will run for the women. For the men it will be Stuart Theriot, Jordan McGee and Christian Callendar.

For the Cajuns in the women's 400m dash it will be Taryn Simmons and Constance Robinson. On the men's side it will be Joey Wynn, Joel Taylor, Troy Hines and Jeffrey Vidocovich.

The 5,000m run will see Michon Meche for the women and Juan Guzman-Rodriguez for the men.
