Meet Preview: Big Names at St. Joseph's Invite

For the boys' race, keep an eye out for a battle between Jesuit, Ruston, Catholic High, and Brother Martin. Jesuit has already made strong impressions this season with an astounding team finish at the Southern Showcase. They appear to be the fan-favorite to win this weekend. Following up on them is a tight team race between the others, with what looks like Ruston having a slight advantage on the rest of the field with some runners below 16-minutes.

Naturally, keep an eye out for the Jesuit boys like Michael Vocke, Jack DesRoches, and Lucas Sampedro. These three are easily some of the best competitors in the state, especially after their individual finishes at the Southern Showcase

Another dangerous trio of runners is from Ruston with Caleb Babineaux, Thomas Rogers, and Bryar Madden. These three solid competitors, all of which have broken 16-minutes this season and could have a strong presence in the top 15.

Keep in mind the dynamic duo from Zachary, Caleb Ackman and Rhen Langley. Ackman is recently coming off of his 5k win at the McNeese State Stampede in 15:55. Langley did not race last week but could return this weekend and challenge the rest of this strong field with his teammate.

Some individuals to look out for are Cameron Kelly of Teurlings Catholic, Nathan Fontan of Mandeville, and John Walker McDonald of Dunham. These runners should not be counted out of the race and are some of the fastest individuals entering this weekend. You can most likely expect some more fast times out of these three, especially since this meet is usually where most runners in Louisiana claim their PR's.
