The Class 4A battle looks to be a one-sided competition with Vanderbilt Catholic raking in the points in the distance and jump events. Closing in for second place contention are Northside and St. Michael.

Vanderbilt Catholic is heavily dominated by distance athletes and garners support from the throws and jumps. Ella Chesnut and Brynn Keslo not only lead 4A in distance events but also are some of the fastest distance runners in the state overall. Chesnut and Keslo share the 1600m and then split to cover the 800m and 3200m. Logan Hamilton joins Chesnut in the 3200m and sets up to deliver large on points.

Meanwhile, in the jumps, Emily Prentice shows that she is a jack of all trades by qualifying in the long jump, triple jump, and pole vault. Her most impressive feat is being ranked No. 12 in the nation in the pole vault on top of being highly ranked in the long and triple jump. In addition to jumps, Sarah Boudreaux and Lauren Fitch both gain points in the discus and javelin. Vanderbilt also holds fast times from the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x800m. Vanderbilt is showing complete dominance in 4A as they come in as the highest-ranked team and show very versatile and talented athletes. However, the state championship has not arrived yet and more surprises could be in store.
