Louisiana Tech Track Inks Top Ten U.S. Sprinter

RUSTON-- Louisiana Tech has signed Quanisha Sales of Hillsboro High School in Nashville, Tenn. to join the nationally renowned Lady Techster track and field team and she will begin competing for Tech in the fall of 2009.

The 2008 TSSAA State Champion in the 100m will be a major addition to an already powerful sprint group of the Lady Techsters.

Sales has personal records of 11.70 seconds in the 100 and 23.98 in the 200. Both marks rank her among the the top ten U.S. high school female sprinters returning for the class of 2009.

Her 2008 upset win over the Tenn. state record holder in the 100m dash projected her name into the national spotlight. The victory was her first individual state title and she is now favored not only to repeat in the 100, but in the 200 as well.

The Nashville, Tenn native ran on the same club team as current Lady Techster sprinter Stacia Hanneman and was the state runner up to Hanneman in the 2008 200m dash.

During the 2007 season Sales won the inaugural "Emerging Elite" 100m fianl at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.

Sales will join the Lady Techster squad in the fall of 2009
