Is Kardell Thomas The Fastest Field 4x100 Anchor Ever?

Kardell Thomas, a 330-pound sophomore with Southern Lab University (La.) High, recently took part in what what appears to a 'thrower's lineup' in a 4x100m relay at the Alan Brown Meet in Baton Rouge on March 30.

The Louisiana State University football commit ran the anchor ... and quite well for an athlete his size, even keeping up with another competitor down the homestretch.

But is he the fastest 'field anchor' for a 4x100m relay ever?  What does this video tell you?

As of this publication, we still don't have an official time for Thomas' split, or his team's overall time.

Thomas' profile shows just two official competitive events this season, with a mark of 40 feet, 2 inches in the shot put at the LSU Indoor High School Last Chance Qualifier in February.

MileSplit is currently contacting Southern Lab to figure out just how fast Thomas can go in the 100m.

He has reportedly run as fast as 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

A well regarded offensive lineman recruit for the Tigers, Thomas has picked up verbal scholarships from Alabama, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Texas.
