ST. Thomas, Mandeville take team honors at the STA Rollette Invite

The St. Thomas Aquinas lady falcons dominated the varsity girls division by putting six runners in the top thirty positions to win the team champion award.  STA scored (45) to runner-up St. Scholastica Academy (62), Mount Carmel Academy was third (83), Sacred Heart-New Orleans fourth (104), Mandeville High fifth(121), Academy of Our Lady sixth(152), Newman seventh(206), Northshore eighth(211), Country Day ninth(229), Pope John Paul tenth(289)  and Maurepas eleventh(311). 
       STA's Malia Cali led the way in the three mile race setting a course record of (16:44) to take the win over SSA's Angela Laborde whoe was second (17:36).  Jordyn Becerra posted a fifth place finish(18:35), while Emily McAfee was seventh(19:10), Carmen Brothers was fourteenth(19:34), Elizabeth Gambel was eigthteenth(19:50), Michelle Mobley (30th-20:53), Molly O'Krepki(50th-21:53), Katie Durham(55th-22:10), Emily Phares(109th-24:30) and Dani Rossano(111th-24:31) for the lady falcons victorius effort.
      
Cosy Trout(Jewel Sumner) took the individual title in Varsity boys division.  In the Varsity boys division, the STA boys posted a fifth place team finish with (107), Mandeville won (52), Holy Cross was second(94), Newman third(95), Jewel Sumner fourth(99), Country Day was sixth(130), followed by Pope John Paul(153), John Curtis(207), Northshore(235), First Baptist Christian(285), Northlake Christian(325) and Albany(343).  Randy Wills led the STA boys with a second place finish in a personal best time of (16:21), Corbett Ourso was ninth(16:42), Scott Wheat(28th-17:31), Bruce O'Krepki(35th-17:54), Gus O'Krepki(38th-17:55), Blake Cordoba(57th-18:46), Butch Oplt(60th-18:51)and Seth Bleakley(79th-19:38).
         Fifth grader Gabrielle Jennings from First Baptist Christian School(Slidell) led the way in the junior high girls race with a winning time of (12:30).  Jewel Sumner led the way in the team standings(25), Fontainebleau Junior High was second(39) andf Mount Carmel Academy third(57). Avelina Trout led the cowgirls to an individual fifth place finish(13:41), Scotti Dykes(6th-13:53), Harley Menard(8th-14:11), Virginia Cook(9th-14:24) and Breonne Williams(16th-15:22) to lead the cowgirls to the team win.  St. Joseph's Callie Fulmer posted a tenth place finish(14:26).
        Jewel Sumner's Miquel James(10:28) and Leonel Moreno(10:39) posted a 1-2 finish in the junior high boys race, while Holy Ghost's Tommy Brocato was third(10:45) and Kraemer Jackson(St. Joseph's) was fourth(11:24).  Fontainebleau Junior High won the team competition(28), St. Joseph's was second(35) and Christ Episcopal was third(64). 
        St. Joseph's Lauren Hebert easily won the middle school girls race with a winning time of (6:35) and her teammate Hollie Guay was fifth(7:06), while Trafton's Regan Bolton placed 13th(8:23).  St. Peter's won the team title with (15) and were led by ninth place finisher Theresa White(7:33).
        Lake Castle won the middle school boys team award with (30), Trafton Academy was second(37), and St. Peter was third(64).  Trafton's Eric Coston led the way with a first place finish in (5:39),  while teammates Reed Bolton(4th-6:10), Conner Meyers(10th-6:58), Butch Bartels(14th-7:11) and Dante' Thomas(25th-7:54) for the second place Trafton boys.  Brady Becerra was the top Holy Ghost runner at the eighth position(6:38), while Kyle Tumulty led the St. Joseph's boys (22nd-7:41). 
       Trafton Academy's Meghan Becerra(6:17) and Jordan Strahan (6:43) finished 1-2 in the elementary girls division, while Victoria Cefalu was fourh(7:01) and Annie Walls ninth(7:38).  Lydia Pevey led the St. Joseph's girls to a first place team finish at the third position(6:47), while her teammates were: Claire-Chapin Perilloux(5th-7:04), Allie Amerson(13th-8:04), Taylor Raiford(16th-8:23) and Kodi Golden(17th-8:24).  Holy Ghost's Ellen Gambel(6th-7:29) and Mary Francis Chauvin(8th-7:34) posted top ten finishes.
St. Joseph's scored (37) for the win, Albany Upper Elementary was second(73), Holy Ghost third(80), Our Lady of Perpetual Help fourth(96), St. Peter fifth(108)  and Lake Castle sixth(109). 
      Clayton Ourso(Holy Ghost) won the elementary boys one mile race in (6:10), while St. Jospeh's Jonathan Boudreaux was second (6:19).  Christ Episcopal won the team trophy with (24), while Albany Upper Elementary was second(45) and Lake Castle third(65).  Michael Dickson led the Albany boys with a third place finish(6:38), while Dawson Gildig was eighth(6:57). 
       Isabella Jones(Holy Ghost) won the sub-elementary girls 1/2 mile race (3:44), while teammate Allie Ferrara was second(3:53).  Trafton's Brynleigh Berthelot was third(3:55) and St.Joseph's Kaitlyn Schulz was fifth(4:02).  The Holy Ghost scored a perfect team score of (15) to win the team title.  Also pacing Holy Ghost to the team championship were: Drew Barzenick(4th-3:56), Isabelle Mollega(7th-4:25), Anna Grace Hoover(9th-4:38), Sarah Labbe(4:40) and Cammile Jordan(12th-5:55).
      Holy Ghost Ryan Dawsey won the sub-elementary boys 1/2 mile race (3:14), while Trafton's Cade Meyers(2nd-3:25) and Dante' Thomas(3rd-3:29).  St. Joseph's Cody Flynn was fifth(3:40).  Holy Ghost won the team title with (23) and Trafton Academy had (34) for second.  Also pacing the Holy Ghost boys to the team title were:  Brock Barringer(4th-3:38), Treaver Whittington(6th-3:41), Grand Emerson(8th-3:45) and Tyler Leon(12th-3:59).
