Grambling TIGER TRACK TEAM FARES WELL AT MCNEESE STATE INDOOR INVITE

LAKE CHARLES, La. – A first place finish by GSU’s distance medley team along with Travis Joseph in the triple jump were among the highlights provided by the Tiger track team during the annual McNeese State Cowboy Indoor Invite.
           
Travis Joseph posted the top performance for GSU’s field event participants with a jump of 14.36 meters in the triple jump while the duo of Christopher Williams and Deangelo Waller logged fifth-place finishes in the shot put and long jump, respectively.
           
Edmund Joseph clocked a 7.73 in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles en route to a second-place finish while Kalen Echols and Lester Jones impressed in the 400-meter dash after finishing 2-3 with times of 51.80 and 52.15, respectively.  In the 800-meter run, Mickell James logged a third-place run of 2:01.89 while Jacquecar Robinson ran 23.95 to place fourth.
           
In the relay events, the distance medley team of Brian Ramos, Matu Bundy, James and Brenton Flurry placed first by clocking a 10:49.72.  The 4x400-meter relay team of Echols, Jones, Joseph and Robinson closed out the relay events with a third place run of 3:31.91.
