Women’s Cross Country Places First at NSU Invitational

NATCHITOCHES, LA.-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Northwestern State University on Monday, and the UL women took home first place. The women placed first with 27 points, while the men finished fifth with 113 points. The first place finish marked the first win for the women’s team this season. The UL women had five top 10 finishes on the day. Casey Brown’s time of 20:26.67 and second place finish led the way for the Cajuns. Jasmine Collins placed fourth with her time of 20:41.50, followed by Callie Picou who finished fifth with a time of 20:50.53. Paula Parker’s time of 21:02.00 was good enough for a sixth place finish. Suzanne Boudreaux rounded out the top 10 with her time of 21:41.46. In men’s action, Joby Gisclair had the best finish of the day. Gisclair placed 11th with his time of 28:04.61. Reese Lee finished 17th with a time of 28:30.45, and Peter Stelly placed 21st with a time of 29:01.18.  The Cajuns will next compete in the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sunday, Oct. 13. Results:Women:1.
