Louisiana Tech Triple-Duals State School in Mook 4

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech hosted its annual Mook 4 Cross Country Invitational at the extremely challenging four-kilometer/mile course at Lincoln Parish Park Saturday morning in a triple-dual scoring competition.

“I am very please with our young team,” Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. “This was a very successful race. All the teams enjoy Lincoln Parish Park.”

Louisiana Tech’s men’s squad took three wins with final scores of 22-33 against ULM, 18-37 against ULL and 19-36 against Northwestern State.

McNeese State’s Mark Hoeu finished first overall with a time of 20 minutes, 30 seconds on the four mile course for the men. Tech’s highest finisher was Jace Benoit at 21:19 for sixth place. Cory Denstel took ninth at 21:49, while newcomers Kyle Davis, Steven Cortez and David Monroe round out Tech's top five finishes at 22:18, 22:24 and 22:37, respectively.

On the women’s side, Tinette Burger of McNeese finished first overall with a time of 14:38 in a four-kilometer course. Lauren Gilbert was the highest Tech finisher at 16:52.

The Lady Techsters picked up a win against La. College by a score of 19-49 but lost to both Centenary and NSU by scores of 51-17 and 42-17, respectively.
