The Mandeville Skippers have dominated every LA XC meet so far this season - except for a one-point loss to St. Joseph's Academy at the Christian Brothers Invitational. But after producing an impressive runner-up performance out of 37 teams at the Gulf Coast XC Stampede, the Lady Skippers may be ready to take down their Class 5A rivals at their home invitational. Women Ninth, Men 13th at XC Chile Pepper Festival

BATON ROUGE � Junior Morgan Schuetz finished 29th to help the Lady Tigers place ninth in the 5k course, while the men finished 11th in the 8k course at the Chile Pepper Festival. (via LSUsports.net)

Ben Barrett runs Red Hot at Chile Pepper Festival

Oklahoma state champ Ben Barrett of Norman North bettered his 15:05 season best 5K race from a runner-up finish at the Missouri Stampede defeating a US top 25 ranked runner in Stephen Mugeche (3rd, 15:06) of Blue Springs in Missouri at the Chile Pepper Festival in Arkansas with a 15:02 win.
