ULM Women Excel at Mook 5

RUSTON, La. – The ULM women's cross country program garnered four top-15 finishes, including a sixth-place result for junior Rebecca Dark on Saturday morning at Louisiana Tech's Mook 5 competition at Tech Farm.

Dark, a hometown runner from Monroe, La., legged out a 5K time of 20:30.20 to lead the way. ULM's next finisher was freshman Kristin Cave who took 11th with a time of 21:02.50.

The Warhawks also garnered top-15 scores from freshman Josie Wood and senior Anakaren Lopez. Wood stopped the clock at 21:15.70, while Lopez crossed the finish line in 21:32.60.

Rounding it out, sophomore Brittany Garrison scored a time of 22:58.60 and newcomer Rebecca Fontenot at 23:54.40.

The women will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Natchitoches, La., for the NSU Pre-Conference meet.

The ULM men took the weekend off after a heavy week of training. They will compete again next Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Chile Pepper Festival.
