John Curtis Season Opener Preview

John Curtis athlete Darrick Williams is one of the leaders on a senior laden squad this year at JCCS.

The Fourth of July has already passed, but prepare to see fireworks at City Park in New Orleans this Wednesday.  The beginning to 2014 Louisiana cross country season is just days away and for the second year in a row the John Curtis cross country program is hosting the season opener.  Last years competition set the tempo for the rest of the year and featured several state trophy winning teams, several state champions and medallists, and four athletes who would represent the state at the New Balance track championships the following track season.  This years meet has grown and features once again a group of high profile teams and individuals not afraid to lay it on the line early.  Here is a list of the majority of the confirmed entrants as of Sunday evening (and those looking to to run must email ccaiado@tulane.edu ASAP!):
