USATF Southern Association JO Outdoor T&F Championship 2014

Well the results are in and a great meet is over. Other than some problems with registration on Saturday the competion was good and the meet was fun for the participants. As a first time Coach and a first time trip for Mississippi Milesplit the level of spirit from the athletes and fans/families was fantastic. With age groups from 6 to 18 things the meet was run as quickly as possible. Xpress Timing did their usual fine time and posted live results on their site as soon as they were available.

The meet was run in warm tempertures and high humidity so some performances were effected but several records were still broken.

Kennedi Sanders broke the 11-12 year old record set by Olympic Gold Medal winner Bianca Knight. Kenndi of Peak Performance ran 26.05 to win the 200 Meters. Darian Chestnut from Metropolitan set the Southern Association record in the 9-10 year old 800 meter run with a 2:40.57. In the 13-14 year old boys 1500 meter run Zachery Barthel of Southern ran 4:33.08 to break the Southern Association record by 10 seconds.
