Trafton Academy Practice Meet

 

The Trafton Academy girls and boys opened-up the outdoor track season on Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Hammond.  The Trafton team joined Mater Dolorosa and individuals from Holy Ghost,  Parkview Baptist,  Albany Elementary and Mandeville Junior High.  Eighth grader Dylan Dunaway and seventh grader Victor Harvey led the way for the Junior High boys team with some good opening marks.  Dunaway won the 1500 meters(5:11.24) and 800 meters(2:30.88),  while Harvey captured the 200(26.23) and 400(1:03.00).  Eryn Wilks led the way for the Junior High girls with three wins in the shot put(19-0),  100(15.98) and 200(32.68),  Maggie Crawford won the 400(1:07.26) and was second in the 800(2:51.15),  while Mandeville JH's Ann Byerley captured the 800(2:47.56) and 1500(5:50.80). 
 
Emma Littell and Paula Harvey led the way in the Middle School girls division.  Littell was a distance double winner in the 1500(5:30.98) and 800(2:47.11),  while Harvey was a double sprint winner in the 100(14.55) and 200(31.01).  Marley Vinet won the long jump(11-03) and was second in the 100(15.95) and  third in the 200(36.13).  Lexie Anderson was the high jump champion(3-06) and was second in the long jump(8-01),  Jade Johnson won the shot put(23-07) and Madelyn Nicaud won the 400(1:19.87).  Tyler Luster was a double winner in the Middle School boys division with wins in the 100(15.11) and 200(33.67).  Jonathan Neal was the middle school boys shot put winner(30-09) and Mason Thompson won the 1500(5:50.22) and 800(3:06.88).  MDS's Austin Dupre was the long jump champion(11-05.50) and was second in the 800(3:19.88)
 
Presley Walls led the way for the Trafton girls with three victories in the shot put(19-11),  200(34.94) and 400(1:20.35).  Rebekah Pesson was the 100 meter winner(19.34) and was third in the shot put(17-04),  while Breanna Becerra was the 1500 meter champion(5:40.39).  Jourdan St. Romain was the 800 meter winner(3:13.59) and was second in 400(1:25.27),  whil.e Taylor McGovern won the high jump(2-10) and was second in the long jump(6-02).  Mater Dolorosa's Markeia Baham won the long jump(6-09),  was second in the 800(3:54.57) and was third in the 400(1:45.34). 
 
Konner Poche led the Elementary boys team with three first place finishes in the high jump(3-10),  200(32.82) and 400(1:16.74).  Kollin Poche won the 1500(5:48.68),  800(2:54.69) and long jump(10-09).  Bryson Luster won the 100(14.89) and was second in the 200(33.01).  MDS's Earl Jackson won the shot put(21-08) and was third in the 100(16.50) and 200(35.68).
 
Emma Nicaud led the lady eagles in the Sub-Elementary division with three first place finishes in the 55(9.97),  100(18.31) and 200(40.05),  while teammate Sydney Gill posted three second place finishes behind Nicaud in the sprints,  55(10.35),  100(19.63) and 200(43.22).  MDS' Savannah Rahn was the shot put champion(6-11) and long jump winner(4-09.50),  while teammate Marquesha Baham won the 400(1:51.74) and was third in the 20046.02).   Jace Caves led the Trafton boys with three individual wins in the Sub-Elementary boys division.  He was a triple winner in the 100(17.89),  200(37.44) and 400(1:26.10) and also placed second in the 55(9.60).  Caden Cuti won the 55(9.57) and was second in the 100(18.11) and 200(38.76),  while Dominick Vinet was the long jump champion(7-01) and Luke Johnson was the shot put winner(11-03).
 
The Trafton JH track teams will be competing Thursday in the Covington High-Trafton JH Season Opener to be held at the CHS Track and Field Complex.
Albany Elementary' Taylor Purvis was the 800 meter champion(3:44.27) and was third in the 400(1:34.72).
