Former Owensboro distance runner Jeff Miller finished 2nd in 1975 Rice Festival Marathon behind world renown runner Frank Shorter. The clip from the Baton Rouge newspaper above shows the styling of the mid 70s when it comes to running fashion. Miller ran a time of 2 hours and 22 minutes that day for the 26.2 mile course.
Miller was a double winner his senior year in track, winning the One Mile and Two Mile Run. He went onto run at LSU where he had PRs of 13:54 (5K) and 29:27 (10K.)
