Boys
  1. 1) St. Pauls - The Wolves continue to gap the field with the return of Jackson, and improvement from key runners, Lipani and the Albrights. This team average continues to improve as they take the coveted Catholic High crown, and dip down to 15:47.  
  2. 2) Catholic  -The Bears continue to remain solidly ahead of #3, John Curtis and Brother Martin, who have been swapping all season. They are both a distance 2nd to St. Paul's, who continue to assert their dominance.
  3. 3) John Curtis - The Pats jump back to number 3 this week after defeating Brother Martin at the Catholic High Invitational.
  4. 4) Brother Martin - Brother Martin had a less than stellar meet at Catholic last weekend. Although they lost to #6 Episcopal, we keep them at #4 this week based off of potential. BM has the runners and the talent to re-challenge for the the number 3 spot; all they need is a  little consistency.
  5. 5) Jesuit - According to our database, Jesuit comes in at number 5, with a team average of 16:46.  Without any standout runners, they top #6 Episcopal, despite having a 3 second slower average.  Perhaps the 30 second gap between 1-5 has something to do with it.
  6. 6) Episcopal - We feel a little guilty ranking the Knights this low, after dethroning the Crusaders at Catholic. With Brother Martin having an off day, we decided to completely rely off our database rankings on this one.  The Knights definitely have potential- with a slight improvement, we might see them move up 2, maybe 3 places this season.
  7. 7) Hahnville - This team proves that numbers and stats don't account for everything.  According to or database, this team comes in at #9.  However, when it comes to race day, they have been knocking off some big guns, including numbers 8 and 9 this week.  Lead by the Robinson twins, more specifically Bryce, who made a run for the state's #1, Zach Albright, the Tigers offset their number 3-5 runners, bringing them into the number 7 position.  
  8. 8). West Monroe - The Rebels have not raced much this season, but they have a 17:02 team average, converted from the 5K.  We are looking forward to see what they are packing this coming weekend.
  9. 9) Shaw - Shaw made some great strides last week and had another great showing at Catholic.  Simoneaux's Eagles come in at number 9 this week, with a team average of 17:17. 
  10. 10) Mandeville - Mandeville, much like Brother Martin, has potential to rise quite a few places, on the stipulation that every runner has an "on" day.  The database ranks Mandeville at number 7, based off their PR's. However, with much inconsistency and their loss to Shaw, Mandeville comes in at #10 this week.
 
Girls
 
  1. 1) Menard - On paper, Mandeville has the stats on their side; however, Wally's Eagles proved the database wrong, defeating the Skippers 68-69. Undoubtedly, they have earned their #1 spot.
  2. 2) Mandeville - With a heartbreaking loss to Menard in Highland Park, they fall to number 2 this week.  They have potential to strongly challenge Menard, but will they go head to head with the Eages again this season?  It's going to be hard for us to consider ranking them ahead of Menard otherwise.
  3. 3) St. Joseph - St. Joseph has remained a solid #3 all season, nothing has changed to move them up or down.  
  4. 4) Parkway - The powerhouse from the north, with an average time of 20:09, stands poised to challenge some of the teams ahead as well as make a run at the 5A state crown in October. With an all star cast of (LA #1) runner Alison Ringle and (LA #19) Sarah Funderpunk, this tail end of the season is looking promising for Parkway.
  5. 5) Dominican - Dominican moves up this week as they continue to run about where we expect them to. If Grace Williams returns to 2012 form, look for Dominican to cast a shadow in the hunt for the 5A title.
  6. 6) Mt. Scholastica - The doves fall a spot this week after their 8th place showing at Catholic. Missing a few key runners, we still keep them at #6, despite their loss to EHS and Catholic Pointe Coupee in Baton Rouge.
  7. 8) EHS> - EHS beat SSA at Catholic.
  8. 9) CHPC- Ranked #10 in our database, we will keep them at #9 because of their win over STM this past weekend. 
  9. 10) STM - STM had a ninth place finish at Catholic, losing to the 8 teams listed above. This goes to show how stacked the invitation was this past weekend. With a team average of 20:47 STM rounds out out #10 spot this week.
