Eight Southeastern athletes won their individual competition. Both men's relay teams and 31 athletes placed in the Top-5.

“Being a scored meet, it was meaningful to our athletes,” Brady said. “We'll use this as a starting point to head into the most important part of our season.”

Loyola takes down four more school marks

(Clinton, Miss.) Loyola University New Orleans track and field team took down four more school records at the Mississippi College Twilight Invitational on Friday afternoon in Clinton, Mississippi.

It has been a record setting season for the Wolf Pack as they have set 11 records in the three meets so far this season. Loyola added four more school records at the Mississippi College Twilight Invitational.

Annie Hills set a school mark in the 1500 meter run as she posted a time of 5:00.40 in the race. She finished third out of 16 competitors in the race, while also topping Stephanie LeGleu’s school record of 5:03.52 which was set in 2000.

Denise Powell also broke the school mark in the 800 meter run as she put up a time of 2:27.83. This is the third time this season that Powell has broken the school record. Calire Schomp held the mark coming into the season, but Powell posted times that were less than a second faster than Schomp’s 2:29 mark at the Louisiana Classics and the Tulane Team Challenge.

Christina Guzman put up a distance of 35-0.5 in the women’s shot put event. That was the fourth place distance out of 15 competitors. Guzman has already set the school mark three times during the season. The freshman has improved in every meet, posting a 34-11.0 distance at the LSU Relays.

On the men’s side, the 4x400 relay team broke a school record in a time of 3:30.40. The team of Claude Nelson, Piero Ramirez, Mario Ramirez, and William Maye broke the record that the same foursome set at the Louisiana Classics meet.
